TGIF: hope, humor, stem cells, and Huff Post

Happy Friday! I don’t know about you, but it’s been a long week for me and it will continue over the weekend with grants and papers, etc. That’s just par for the course in science.

Some of you have seen that I had an article published this week in HuffingtonPost. You can read it here. It is a look back at the crazy year of 2011 in stem cells.

The piece is a humor one, poking fun at the whole stem cell universe but of course particularly the opponents of stem cell research. I think sometimes laughter is a good medicine and renews hope.

While of course the stem cell field invokes many serious issues and those are the ones I most often blog about, sometimes dropping one’s guard and letting yourself laugh is not only okay, it is just downright fun.

So take a read and assuming you think any of it is funny, enjoy. Sometimes we all take ourselves and our universe too seriously.
